Chinatown Complex (牛车水大厦) is one of those places to go for a diverse range of local food in Chinatown, Singapore. The complex is situated beside the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum (佛牙寺), a prominent landmark in the historic district and next to Maxwell MRT Station (Exit 1 & 2).
Occupying the second floor of Chinatown Complex is Singapore’s largest hawker centre, established in 1983 to rehouse street hawkers, with over 260 cooked food stalls. Many traditional Nanyang-Chinese and China-Chinese dishes, and also contemporary cuisines, can be found at the food centre with a number of them listed on Singapore Michelin Guide since 2016.
