Khon Thailand Kitchen,a Thai food stall in Foodgle Hub (福哥) in Bukit Batok West, offers a long list of popular, affordable Thai delights. Aside from single-serving rice / noodle dishes on one menu, there are more Thai zi char dishes on another menu, suitable for group dining. Desserts such as mango sticky rice and Thai candied tapioca are available too.

Khon Thailand Kitchen has a range of fried rice dishes to pair with different meats (egg, chicken, prawn, crabmeat, roasted pork) and also a series of flavoured fried rice (olive, pineapple, tom yum, green curry) to go with chicken / prawn / beef.
The Olive Fried Rice (橄榄炒饭), with chicken, is rice stir-fried with chicken meat, scrambled egg, chopped long beans, shallots and black ground olive. The dish is nicely-cooked, non-oily and has well-balanced flavours from its ingredients, especially the subtle flavour of olive. A small scoop of Khon’s Thai green chilli concoction further enhances the flavours of the fried rice — plus spiciness.

The Pineapple Fried Rice (黄梨炒饭), with prawns, is a Thai-famous, popular dish to go for. The rice is fried with Thai spices, including turmeric, to give the rice a yellowish colour. Other ingredients include fresh crunchy prawns, egg, pineapple cubes, shallots / spring onions and topped with pork floss and cucumber slices. The fried rice has well-balanced, sweet-savoury flavours with citrus-sweet pineapple.

The Tom Yum Fried Rice (冬炎炒饭), with crunchy prawns, is stir-fried with egg and a number of aromatic herbs and seasoning, including lemongrass, chilli, lime, etc, to create the Thai-favourite tom yum flavour. The dish has really nice flavours, with citrusy note of lime juice, and comfortable spiciness level.

The Basil Pork with Rice (泰式罗勒猪肉饭) — available with chicken too — is one of Khon’s hot-selling rice dish that comprises basil pork, a fried egg and plain rice. The Thai-famous basil pork is fried using minced pork with basil, onion, garlic, red chilli, chopped long bean, etc, and has just-nice spiciness with light aroma of basil. The fried egg has a beautiful dark orange (high-carotenoid) runny yolk that gives a rich and creamy texture. This is another delicious dish to go for.

The Fried Garlic Pork Rice (蒜蓉炸猪肉饭) has deep-fried lean pork with crispy garlic bits, a fried egg and salad on plain rice. The tender pork meat has nice garlicky aroma and flavour. It is a simple rice dish and becomes tastier with Khon’s green chilli sauce.

The Pad Thai with Chicken (泰式炒粿条) — available with prawns and beef too — uses soft, flat rice noodle to stir-fried with chicken meat, egg, dried beancurd cubes, bean sprouts, spring onions, etc, and topped with dried chilli flakes and crushed peanut as typical condiments for the Thai-popular dish. The noodle dish is not too dry and has a tasty, sweet-savoury flavour.

The Thai Fried Kway Teow with Chicken (泰式炒河粉) looks very similar to the Pad Thai dish, but without chilli flakes and crushed peanuts, and slightly wetter. It carries an aroma very similar to Singapore-style fried kway teow plus a subtle hint of fish sauce. Similarly, it is a tasty, sweet-savoury dish using flat rice noodle to stir-fry with egg, bean sprouts, chicken and greens and offers a different taste experience from Pad Thai.
Aside from Thai Fried Kway Teow, there are Thai Fried Bee Hoon, Thai Fried Spicy Mee, Thai Fried MAMA Noodle and Thai Fried Glass Noodle to go with chicken, prawns or beef.

The single-serving rice and noodle dishes of Khon Thailand Kitchen are delicious. I will find an opportunity to try their cooked dishes and maybe their desserts too.
By the way, Khon Thailand Kitchen has a new stall in Clementi too.
