Restoran Meng Meng Roasted Duck (阿明帝皇鸭), established in 2003, is a Chinese restaurant chain in Johor Bahru that has expanded to having several outlets over the last 20+ years. The nearest outlet in Johor Bahru to Singapore is located in JB City Square, KSL City Mall and also in Mid Valley Southkey Mall.
Meng Meng Roasted Duck specialises in dang gui roasted ducks (当归烤鸭), roasted delights and Chinese dishes. It is also recognised in the Malaysia Book of Records for “most number of roasted ducks sold in a year”.
Meng Meng’s signature herbal roasted ducks are well-roasted with Chinese (Angelica) herbs over charcoal to give a nice aroma and flavour. Aside from herbal roasted duck, there are non-herbal roasted duck too. Their honey pork and roasted pork seemed beautifully done too when viewed from outside the kitchen.
The restaurant has a wide range of dishes that include rice / noodle dishes with their roasted delights, dim sums, Hakka yong tau foo, Chinese dishes, porridge, dumplings, etc.
The Roasted Duck with Chinese Herb Noodle (当归烤鸭面) is served with their herbal roasted duck on thin and flat egg noodle that is tossed in a delicious sweet-savoury sauce and very springy. The roasted duck has a nice aroma and flavour and very tender. This is delicious — the combination of roasted duck with noodle has always been the best.
Aside from rice and noodle dishes, Meng Meng is also a great restaurant for group lunch / dinner — we had a birthday celebration there.
The large 3-meat Roasted Combination (烧味三拼) with herbal roasted duck, roasted honey (barbecue) pork (蜜汁叉烧皇), crispy roasted pork (脆皮五香烧肉) is the best option to try most of their roasted specialties. The herbal roasted duck has the familiar aroma and tenderness, and both the honey pork and roasted pork are tender and tasty too.

All the dishes are well-cooked with nice flavours. The braised eggplants with minced meat sauce is must-try too.
