Yangtze Hotel (长江酒店) is one of many hotels located in Permas Jaya, Masai District, not far from AEON Mall Permas Jaya and in an area full of dining options — another food haven in Johor Bahru. Permas (Sunday) Night Market is a stone’s throw from the hotel.
Yangtze Hotel has two wings — an original wing (brown-painted) and a newer wing (whitish metallic-clad) — separated by a Chinese medical hall in the middle.
The new wing is at one corner of a row of shophouses and shared half of its two-unit premise on the ground level with Lai Ji Pau & Dim Sum (来记包点心), a dim sum restaurant that offers a great option for breakfast.
My Deluxe King room, on the 3rd storey of the new wing, is very clean and tidy. The unit faces the road and the windows has good sound-proofing that can reduce most of the traffic noises below — fortunately, the road outside is not a busy trunk road and is quieter.
The room has all the amenities that its guests may need. Apart from amenities that are visible at one glance, there are iron and ironing board in the cupboard too. The room has its own designated WiFi and password and the signal is strong.
The bathroom is of reasonable size, not cramp, very clean and the water flow is strong — feels great when taking warm showers.
When planning a short stay or staycation in Johor Bahru, consider Yangtze Hotel in Permas Jaya. It is not far from Mid Valley Southkey Mall and Taman Sentosa too.
