Nineteen Niche is a family-owned baked goods store that started from scratch, at home, and expanded into having three brick-and-mortar stores in Singapore some twenty years later. Their confections — cookies and chiffon cakes — are baked with less sugar, fresh ingredients, real fruits, no artificial flavouring nor preservative. One of their stores is located on Level 3 of Beauty World Centre.

Nineteen Niche has different flavours of chiffon cakes in the glass shelf each time I visit the store. Some of the flavours include jackfruit, orange, peachy yogurt, matcha red bean, pandan, pandan chocolate, juicy coconut. There are also cream puffs, brownies, butter cake and various cookies, including pineapple tarts.

The Matcha Red Bean Chiffon Cake (抹茶红豆戚风蛋糕) has a top layer of rich matcha-flavoured chiffon cake, exuding a mellow matcha aroma, sitting on a light chiffon cake with sweet, soft red beans. Matcha and red bean has always been a popular combination for many confections, and so is this chiffon cake with dual flavours and moist, airy textures. And, of course, it is of low sweetness with less sugar without compromising the flavours.

The Juicy Coconut Chiffon Cake (多汁椰丝戚风蛋糕) gives off a pleasant coconut and egg aroma when the plastic container is opened. The chiffon cake is infused with coconut shreds rather than having it embedded within its core. The soft, fluffy cake has nice mix of egg and coconut flavours and the thin coconut strands give the cake some slight chewy texture, releasing their juicy flavour and coconut sweetness when chewed. This is a delightful and unique cake.
