KSL City Mall is one of the many shopping centres in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, that is closest to Singapore and is thus a popular shopping destination for day-trippers / overnight-vacationers from Singapore. Featuring a Lotus’s supermarket, Mr DIY, Daiso, etc, where Singapore residents will go for groceries and cheap buys, the mall is also popular for its large number of nail spas, hair salons, massages, and also Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC).

Aside from a number of restaurants in the mall, there are many more restaurants, cafes and coffee shops lining the streets around the mall, in Taman Abad / Taman Century (世纪花园), providing a wide variety of dining options.

From JB Sentral to KSL City Mall
If you are going to KSL City Mall from JB CIQ / JB Sentral, walk to the bus terminal below JB Sentral — go down the escalator between JB CIQ and JB Sentral. Then, walk towards the end of the bus terminal to Bus Bay 2 (Hentian Bas 2). Look for the dedicated BAS.MY J100 shuttle service that is operated by Causeway Link.

BAS.MY J100 traverses directly between JB Sentral and KSL City Mall, with stops for Plaza Pelangi and Holiday Plaza along its route. The shuttle service starts as early as 7am and will stop briefly at the main entrance of KSL City Mall before continuing its journey back to JB Sentral — in a loop. Service frequency of BAS.MY J100 is 15 minutes and the fare to KSL City Mall is RM1.50 (one-way).
Note that KSL City Mall will open its doors only at 10am. If you are there early in the morning, before 10am, and wish to have breakfast at one of the eating places on the other side KSL City Mall, nearer to Holiday Plaza, alight at Holiday Plaza instead of at the entrance of KSL City Mall — see the map below to get a clearer picture.
To return to JB Sentral, board the bus at the main entrance of KSL City Mall. The return fare is RM1.40. The last service is at 11pm from JB Sentral, which should take around 15 minutes to reach KSL City Mall.

Note that, on Monday late afternoon, there will be a night market (or pasar malam) along the road in front of the main entrance of KSL City Mall. The road will be closed to vehicles. If you are there on Monday after 3pm and taking the shuttle service to JB Sentral, board the bus at the basement exit instead of at the main entrance. There is no signpost to identify where to queue for the shuttle bus, but it should be outside KFC / Pizza Hut. Do expect a long queue.

From JB Sentral to Plaza Pelangi / Holiday Plaza
To go to Plaza Pelangi, board BAS.MY J100 at JB Sentral, alight at the bus-stop opposite Grand Paragon Hotel and walk down Jalan Harimau to the plaza — however, using other bus services from JB Sentral to Pelangi are easier and have lesser walking distance. Note that BAS.MY J100 does not pass by Plaza Pelangi on the return journey.
To get to Holiday Plaza, or the large number of eating places nearer to Holiday Plaza, board BAS.MY J100 at JB Sentral and alight one stop after KSL City Mall. There is no bus-stop, just press the bell after the bus passes Holiday Villa Hotel. The bus driver will drop-off passengers near a pedestrian crossing opposite the plaza.

To return to JB Sentral from Holiday Plaza, wait near the pedestrian crossing and opposite the plaza — around the same place where you alight from the shuttle (if you have taken it to the plaza). As there is no bus-stop, the bus drivers will not know if there are any potential passenger(s), so do look out for the bus and flag it down when it is approaching.
From Larkin Sentral to KSL City Mall
There is no direct bus services between Larkin Sentral and KSL City Mall even though they are only about 5Km apart. Use Grab service if you have mobile data.
Alternatively, use bus services with one stop-over at JB Sentral. At Larkin Sentral, go to Platform A and board BAS.MY J10, or any buses with a “JB Sentral” sign on its windscreen, then change to BAS.MY J100 at JB Sentral to KSL City Mall. It will probably take more than 30 minutes excluding waiting time at the bus terminals — so, just Grab!
