Johor Bahru Bus Guides: Get Around Johor Bahru using Public Buses

Public bus services has always been the cheapest way to get around Johor Bahru, but most visitors from Singapore would rather use Grab car / e-hailing transports — requiring mobile data in Malaysia — or taxis (non-metered and expensive) to get from point to point instead of using public buses. For frequent visitors to Johor Bahru, using the cheaper public bus services saves money in the long run — especially after the sharp recovery of Malaysia’s ringgit.

The BAS.MY (formerly myBAS) public bus services is a project, initiated by the Federal Government of Malaysia, that was launched in March 2022, to serve 5 corridors in Johor. Operated by Causeway Link, BAS.MY aims to “provide sustainable public transportation and more reliable services with proper bus schedules, cashless payment, etc”. Service routes and relevant information are also made available online via Causeway Link’s website.

Johor Bahru BAS.MY Public Bus Services @ JB Sentral

Starting from September 2022, the former myBAS services progressively replaced all older services, by multiple companies, operating from JB Sentral Bus Terminal near JB CIQ and Larkin Sentral.

On 30th September 2025, myBAS was rebranded as BAS.MY with new buses coated in bright pink. All bus services were also re-designated with prefix “J” (for Johor Bahru) instead of “T” (trunk) or “F” (feeder), but service numbers remained unchanged. New services were introduced, some removed, and some had changes in their routes.

Bus Guides

Below is a list of bus guides to get around Johor Bahru and to neighbouring districts, such as Pontian, Kulai and Kota Tinggi, using public bus services from JB Sentral / Larkin Sentral. These guides were written based on getting to popular destinations (shopping malls, districts, etc) rather than based on bus service numbers.
