Macau Eat: Ngao Kei Ka Lei Chon (牛记咖喱美食) Beef Brisket Noodle

Ngao Kei Ka Lei Chon (牛记咖喱美食), established in 1997, is well-known for its authentic Cantonese cuisine. Its signature dishes include swimmer crab congee rich in crab roe aroma, curried beef brisket noodles, and noodles tossed in crab roe sauce. The restaurant is praised for quality food and service and has been recommended by Macau Michelin Guide since 2011.

Ngao Kei’s original outlet is rather small and located at one end of Rua de Cinco de Outubro (十月初五日街). It has opened a new outlet, with much bigger space and more tables, along the same street just 80 metres away.

The Beef Brisket Noodle (原汁牛腩面) is served with beef brisket and thin noodle in clear tasty broth and topped with scallion. The beef brisket is very tender and juicy and the broth is rich and flavourful. It is a delicious dish suitable for breakfast — and with black coffee.

I have not tried Ngao Kei’s signature curry dishes and will be back for more on the next trip to Macau.
