Singapore Eat: Thye Hong Fishball Noodle (太丰鱼圆面) @ Bukit Batok

Thye Hong Fishball Noodle (太丰鱼圆面) offers fishball noodle dishes with handmade fishballs and fish cakes with choice of noodle type. Other than fishball noodle, there are fishball soup and fried fish cake as side dishes. The noodle stall is located in Kimly Coffeeshop below Block 233 in Bukit Batok East, and another outlet in Ghim Moh Food Centre.

The Fishball Noodle (鱼圆面) is available as dry-style or in soup with a choice of noodle type from three options: mee pok (面薄), mee kia (幼面) or kway teow with yellow noodle (粿条面). For dry-style, the noodle is accompanied by a flavourful tossing sauce with aroma of fried shallot, mushroom, fried pork lard, etc, and topped with chopped scallions. The flavourful sauce makes the noodle dish delicious.

The ingredients in the bowl of savoury soup, that accompanies a dry-style noodle dish, are big-size fishballs, slices of fish cake and slices of lean pork. The handmade fishballs and fish cakes are mild savoury and very soft — they are so nice that I will want to try their fried fish cakes next time.

Thye Hong Fishball Noodle is managed by an elderly couple, so be patient when queuing and waiting for the food. Despite that, do expect a queue during peak hours for their fishball noodle dishes are really good.
