AEON Mall Bukit Indah, in Bukit Indah, and Perling Mall, in Taman Perling, are two shopping malls in Johor Bahru that are frequent by Singapore shoppers who cross the border via Tuas Checkpoint as both malls are nearer to the Second Link. There are direct cross-border services from Singapore to the malls and change of buses are required after crossing the border to Johor Bahru.
Taman Nusa Bestari is a vibrant, well-established township in Iskandar Puteri, adjacent to Bukit Indah. It is renowned for its bustling commercial hubs, localised shopping and diverse food scenes.
Shoppers who cross via Woodlands Checkpoint have many shopping options close to the 1st Link, such as JB City Square, KOMTAR JBCC, KSL City Mall, Mid Valley Southkey Mall, etc. Notwithstanding this, there is a bus service from JB Sentral to the two shopping malls for shoppers who prefer to cross the border via Woodlands Checkpoint.
Via Woodlands Checkpoint
After crossing the border via Woodlands Checkpoint, there are two ways to get to AEON Mall Bukit Indah.
1. Via JB Sentral
Take BAS.MY J33 at Bus Bay 1 in JB Sentral Bus Terminal to Bukit Indah / Taman Perling. The service interval is 30 minutes and the bus fare is RM2.80 to AEON Mall Bukit Indah and RM2.70 to Taman Nusa Bestari — I have not been to Perling Mall, so do check with the bus driver on the fare or use Visa / Mastercard / Manjalink Card for convenience.

BAS.MY J33 serves the following shopping malls / estates along its route between JB Sentral and AEON Mall Bukit Indah:
- Beletime Danga Bay
- B5 Johor Street Market / Plaza Angsana
- Perling Mall
- Taman Nusa Bestari
- AEON Mall Bukit Indah
On reaching AEON Mall Bukit Indah, the bus will drop passengers near a pedestrian crossing opposite the mall — there is no bus-stop. Most passengers will alight here — if not, the prominent, huge magenta sign of AEON is not easy to miss.
To return to JB Sentral, wait for BAS.MY J33 at the bus-stop on-site of AEON Mall Bukit Indah. The service will depart from Taman Tan Sri Yaacob Hub and take around 15 minutes to arrive at the mall. The fare is RM2.80 to JB Sentral.
The service will also pass by Perling Mall on its way to JB Sentral.
2. Via Larkin Sentral
Take BAS.MY J44 from Larkin Sentral Platform A towards Puteri Harbour Ferry Terminal, stopping opposite AEON Mall Bukit Indah along its route — same as BAS.MY J33. Going back to Larkin Sentral is also at the bus-stop on-site of AEON Mall Bukit Indah.
However, the service frequency is one hour in both directions and the service does not stop at Perling Mall.
Via Tua Checkpoint
From Singapore, use either one of the following cross-border Causeway Link services to the 2nd Link:
- CW3 / CW4 from Jurong Town Hall Bus Interchange
- CW6 from Boon Lay Way Bus Stop
After clearing Johor Checkpoint, change to CW3 / CW3L / CW6 to AEON Mall Bukit Indah, followed by Perling Mall. The bus fare is S$5 to both shopping malls and do keep the bus ticket for changing buses (if using cash). For convenience, use a Visa / Mastercard credit card or ManjaLink card to tap on the card readers on boarding the buses only — do not tap on alighting.
To return to Singapore from AEON Mall Bukit Indah, wait at the same bus-stop on-site of the shopping mall. CW3 / CW3L will head to Jurong East and CW6 to Boon Lay. The bus fare is RM6 — keep fare ticket for changing buses or use Visa / Mastercard / ManjaLink Card for convenience.
Getting to Taman Nusa Bestari
The services mentioned above — BAS.MY J33 / J44 and Causeway Link CW3 / CW6 — passes by Taman Nusa Bestari at some points. However, there may not be physical bus-stops along the long stretch of road (Jalan Persisiran Perling 2) that divides Bukit Indah and Taman Nusa Bestari. To alight from any services, press the bell near to the desired dropping point and the bus driver will stop the bus if safe to do so. On returning, stand beside the road, away from any road junctions, flag down the desired bus service and pray that the bus driver will stop the bus and let you board.
