Macau Eat: Sei Kee Cafe (世纪咖啡) Pork Chop Bun

Sei Kei Cafe (世纪咖啡), established since 1965, is well-known for its pork chop bun and homemade claypot-brewed milk tea and coffee. It was in the Macau Michelin Guide for 3 years from 2019 to 2021. Sei Kei Cafe has several outlets in Macau with the nearest outlet to the Ruins of St. Paul (大三巴牌坊) located at one end of a short alley off Rua da Palha (賣草地街) — I visited it in 2008 and again in 2025.

Sei Kee Cafe’s original / main outlet, which looks like a roadside stall, is located along Calcada do Gamboa (新馬路崗頂吉祥里地下), opposite a police station and near to St. Augustine’s Church. Freshly-brewed, hot claypot coffee and milk tea are available here.

There are two outlets in Taipa Village as well — one for takeaway only and the other with dine-in.

The items sold at the Ruins of St. Paul outlet (大三巴店) are for takeaway only — and it has pork chop buns. Aside from pork chop buns and bottled claypot-brewed milk tea and coffee, the takeaway outlet also serves other buns / toasts (with corned beef, peanut butter, spicy fish, etc), noodle dishes and other beverages too.

The Pork Chop Bun with Egg (厚蛋猪扒包) is huge! The crispy bun can hardly cover the big piece of deep-fried pork chop and the rolled-up egg omelette is none too small either. The well-marinated pork chop is nicely-fried till golden-brown and is tender and juicy with no unnecessary flavourings or sauces. The egg omelette, with mild sweetness and juiciness, is similar in style to Hong Kong-style omelette. It adds a mellow flavour to the pork chop bun. It is delicious!

I would really want to try Sei Kee Cafe’s claypot-brewed milk tea and coffee next time I am in Macau again.
